周六的清晨，虽然天气蒙蒙、细雨纷飞，但如期在劳动人民文化宫开幕的第六届北京市民外语游园会仍点燃了市民争学外语的热情，持续两天的外语游园会吸引了近5万名市民参与。

9时刚过，不仅游园会60多个外语培训机构的摊位前就已经开始聚集着期望提高外语能力的市民，市民一进大门更是被各培训机构的宣传人员热情地夹道簇拥。随后，戴尔国际英语免费为市民测试英语能力的展台前排起了长队；特邀教师开始用英语讲起了北京奥运会、残奥会的培训课程；少儿英语培训机构也组织小朋友做起了外语游戏；在多语种外语角，学习小语种的市民也操着熟练的德语、法语、西班牙语与刚认识的朋友们交流；在服务窗口外语服务模拟区，市民和外国朋友一起被请上出租车，请进了银行、商场，体会和检验着服务人员的多语种服务……

奥运志愿者依旧是焦点

与往届相同的是，奥运会志愿者依旧吸引着更多人的目光，现场招募公共场所外语标识志愿者的活动成为了游园会的焦点。仅半个小时，就有30多位市民填表应征，有在校的大学生、有工作繁忙的中年人，更有年过七旬的老人。“外语标识不规范，不仅会给外国朋友制造麻烦，同样也丢咱们北京人的面子，我期望为北京奥运作点贡献。”一位72岁的老人告诉记者。她上学时没有学英语，却利用业余时间自学英语40年。她表示每天都可以提供义务监督的服务。杜先生今年40岁，“我平时上街的时候，经常给标牌挑错，在尽市民义务的同时，也是提高英语的一个机会。”

“规范公共场所英语标识工作是本市确保举办一届有特色、高水平奥运会的重要环节。去年，我们出台了规范英文译法的地方标准，今年的重点工作就是落实整改。”市外办主任杨柳荫说，“北京的标志标牌很多，号召普通市民的参与，不仅可以激发市民学外语的热情，同时也可以加强我们的检查整改力度，请市民帮助我们一起塑造北京国际化都市的形象。”据游园会主办方透露，两天的游园会，共接到600多位市民的申请，主办方将根据市民的外语水平以及可以提供志愿服务的时间意愿，考核选拔志愿者。

现场免费测英语

排队最长的，当属北京英语水平考试的八个队。今年在游园现场首次推出的北京英语水平考试(bets)有奖模拟测试活动，吸引了不同年龄段的人争相测试，几个登记的奖品吸引了众多目光。参加者接受免费测试的同时还可以检验自身的英语水平。测试由英国剑桥大学考试委员会esol考试部资深考官担任，在游园会bets咨询区进行三个不同级别的口语测试，通过者还将获得精美奖品。此外高等教育出版社也组织了一系列围绕bets内容的活动，与市民进行有奖互动。

再过一个月就89岁的宋大妈在测试区参加了英语口语测试，展示了自己的口语水平。

“我的英语说得还行。要不是旁边的音响声太大了，我能讲得更好。”和工作人员进行了十多分钟的交流，宋大妈兴奋中略有遗憾。她说，测试主要是用英语提问，都和奥运有关，要求用英语回答，问题不很难。

宋大妈说，自己体力还行，就是听力不济。她手里晃着奥组委编写的《奥运英语100句》说：“我回家就学这个100句，肯定能学会。”她告诉记者，“北京奥运会快举行了，虽然当志愿者竞争不过年轻人，但还是想多学一些英语。”家住朝阳区团结湖的她，只要一听说哪个图书馆或社区有英语学习班，就去参加。三年里，大大小小的讲座、辅导，她参加了不少。

据了解，前来参加此次游园会的市民们积极参加了各种外语活动。一位不足10岁的小女孩儿不仅用英语演讲，还用英语演唱了电影《毕业生》的主题曲，引来台下观众的热烈掌声。在北京英语水平考试有奖抢答现场，贴在题板上的小纸条不一会儿就被几位大妈大嫂撕掉了。上面的英文题，没有难住她们。

像宋大妈一样，很多市民都现场测试起自己的英语口语来。在测试人员登记表上，既有60岁以上的大爷大妈，也有20多岁的年轻人，还有许多不足10岁的儿童，他们都是英语爱好者。北京市民正积极投入学英语用英语的活动中，迎接奥运的到来。
